What is Rehab Therapy?

Rehab therapy aims to enhance functional abilities, promote independence, reduce pain, and improve overall well-being. Treatment plans are typically personalized based on individual needs and goals, and the therapy may be provided in various settings, including hospitals, clinics, rehabilitation centers, or even in the individual’s home. The duration and intensity of rehab therapy vary depending on the condition being treated and the individual’s progress.

What does Curam Staffing Staff?

  1. Physical Therapy (PT): Physical therapists assess and treat physical impairments, functional limitations, and disabilities. They use various techniques such as exercise, manual therapy, stretching, and modalities like heat or cold therapy to improve strength, flexibility, balance, and mobility. Physical therapy is often prescribed for conditions such as musculoskeletal injuries, stroke, neurological disorders, or post-surgical rehabilitation.

  2. Occupational Therapy (OT): Occupational therapists focus on helping individuals develop or regain the skills needed for daily activities, work, and leisure. They work with patients to improve fine motor skills, coordination, cognitive abilities, and adaptive techniques. Occupational therapy may involve activities such as self-care training, assistive device recommendations, and workplace modifications.

  3. Speech-Language Therapy: Speech-language therapists, also known as speech-language pathologists (SLPs), address communication and swallowing disorders. They evaluate and treat difficulties related to speech production, language comprehension and expression, voice disorders, cognitive-communication impairments, and swallowing disorders. Speech-language therapy is commonly used for conditions such as stroke, traumatic brain injury, developmental delays, and neurological disorders.

  4. Pulmonary Rehabilitation: Pulmonary rehabilitation is tailored for individuals with chronic respiratory conditions such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), asthma, or lung transplant. It combines exercise training, breathing exercises, education, and support to optimize lung function, reduce symptoms, and improve overall respiratory health.
