In most companies Respiratory Therapy will fall under “Therapy”. Well we at Curam Staffing know how important the role of a Respiratory Therapist plays in the care team. Not only are RT’s vital in helping with readmission rates, but also play an important part in a human’s number one responsibility, breathing!
What is Cardiopulmonary?
Often times the term Cardiopulmonary is used in smaller facilities who lump Cardiopulmonary as the combination of Respiratory Therapy, Sleep and EEG. This is because as the profession of Respiratory Therapy evolved, it sometimes included the monitoring of oxygen during sleep “apnea” episodes. It later evolved into Long Term Monitoring, where a respiratory therapist would monitor a patient to observe any breathing issues related to brain activity. Since then the Sleep and EEG field has specialized providing their own techs who focus only on these situations.
By incorporating sleep techs and EEG techs into cardiopulmonary staffing, healthcare organizations can address the multidimensional aspects of sleep disorders and their impact on both the pulmonary and cardiovascular systems. This integrated approach allows for comprehensive evaluation, management, and treatment of patients with sleep-related issues and cardiopulmonary conditions.
But how do Dietitians, Anesthesia Techs, and Perfusionists fall under Cardiopulmonary?
For a long time Staffing Agencies deemed Cardiopulmonary as a very cylical market, dead in the summer time and active in the fall. For this reason, most Cardiolpulmoanry teams were given the opportunity to diversify and work on any emerging modalities. For this reason a whole slew of markets would be curated by Cardiopulmonary teams. Curam Staffing has staff trained in all of these modalities so every traveler can feel taken care of by those who others overlook!
